About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team as a Research Associate within the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South London Alcohol Theme. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating the impact of intervention implementation and facilitating knowledge mobilisation through the adoption and spread of interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Carry out tasks related to the Alcohol Theme's two overarching aims: to evaluate the impact of intervention implementation, and to facilitate knowledge mobilisation through the adoption and spread of interventions.
  2. Work with other Alcohol Theme colleagues, patient and public representatives, colleagues across the ARC South London and external stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
  3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including patients, public representatives, and healthcare professionals.
  4. Contribute to the development of research proposals, protocols, and reports.
  5. Collaborate with other researchers and clinicians to design and implement studies.
Requirements
  1. PhD in addiction or a related field.
  2. Experience in applying for NHS ethics and governance approval.
  3. Track record of working with patient and public involvement groups.
  4. Good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, and of the distortions that can be associated with stigma and discrimination.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Desirable Criteria
  1. Demonstrate active contribution to scientific publications in relevant peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  2. Experience of working with vulnerable people with complex needs.
  3. Experience of conducting research in clinical settings.
  4. Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams.
