General Practice Nurse

Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time, skilled General Practice Nurse to become a vital member of our dedicated team. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing services within a supportive environment. The position requires a commitment of 15 hours per week, specifically on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, as well as Friday afternoons. There is potential for increased hours in the future, and we are open to training qualified nurses who may not have prior experience in general practice.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of clinical tasks, including:
- Conducting Treatment Room procedures such as Cytology, Childhood Immunisations, Wound Management, Vaccinations, and Venepuncture.
- Managing patients with chronic respiratory conditions and overseeing Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) responsibilities in this area.
About Our Practice
We are a progressive and enthusiastic practice, committed to delivering exceptional care to our patient population. Our team consists of six GPs, including two partners and four salaried doctors, alongside a dedicated support staff, which includes administration personnel and a fully operational dispensary. We currently employ three practice nurses, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, an experienced Healthcare Assistant, and a phlebotomist. Our practice also collaborates with various roles within the Primary Care Network, enhancing the support we provide to our patients.
We utilize EMIS Web for our practice management and are part of a collaborative network aimed at improving healthcare delivery in our community.
Regular clinical meetings and practice-wide discussions are held to foster a culture of support and continuous improvement among our clinical staff. We encourage the development of special interests within primary care and promote ongoing learning opportunities.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
Experience:
- Proficient IT skills.
- Willingness to engage in further training.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in a primary care setting.
- Background in chronic disease management.
- Knowledge of immunization and vaccination protocols.
