Job Title: Forensic Nurse Examiner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Nurse Examiner to join our team at Nurture Health and Care Ltd. As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will play a critical role in our multidisciplinary team, providing assessments and evidence that inform legal outcomes.

About the Role:

As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will be based from home whilst on shift, responding and attending the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) according to demand. You will be required to travel for initial training and shadowing, and occasionally thereafter.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform holistic, forensic clinical assessments for children, young people, and adults who experienced sexual assault, with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Interact sensitively, ensuring a trauma-informed approach to care supporting self-referrals along with police referrals.
  • Uphold the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality in documentation and evidence handling.
  • Co-produce individual management plans tailored to the needs of each client.
  • Provide testimony in court, contributing to the integrity of legal proceedings.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development as part of our Novice to Expert programme.
  • Lead initiatives, mentor peers, and engage in programmes designed to enhance professional skills and service delivery, including our partners.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience or an interest in forensic and legal medicine and a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience. You must have or be willing to work towards master's level study, complete educational courses, and work towards being able to provide testimony to court. You will be subject to police vetting and 3 years of UK residency.
