Job Summary:

GPW Recruitment Services is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's Research & Development team in Runcorn. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing bespoke machinery to work as part of existing production lines within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop machinery and mechanical systems to meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new designs into production lines
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and user manuals
  • Work closely with procurement teams to source materials and components
  • Participate in machine trials and testing to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards

Requirements:

  • BEng in Mechanical Engineering or HNC/HND with relevant experience
  • Proficiency in 3D drawing packages, including Solidworks
  • Experience in automated machinery design in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel for business purposes, both within the UK and internationally
