Job Description

Role: Claims Handler

Location: Hybrid

Job Type: Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Handler to join our team at HSB Engineering Insurance. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for handling losses in various insurance products, predominantly in the Construction/Engineering and Cyber sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and handle claims from first notice of loss (FNOL) to settlement, ensuring excellent customer service and productivity.
  • Establish liability, negotiate settlements, and identify potential recovery opportunities and fraud within departmental service standards and authority levels.
  • Support the Claims Team Leader in maintaining a high-performance culture within the claims team, adhering to HSB behavioral standards.
  • Manage relationships and expectations with internal and external stakeholders, including face-to-face interactions to deliver service excellence throughout the claim lifecycle.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements and governance are met throughout the claims handling lifecycle.
  • Utilize third-party suppliers, such as Loss Adjusters and Solicitors, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Claims handling experience in the UK insurance market.
  • Understanding of the UK insurance market and customer relationship management.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage a busy workload.
  • Desirable skills: understanding of international and construction/engineering insurance markets, conflict handling.
  • Progression towards CII qualifications.
