About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer/Project Engineer to join our team at Centrica Business Solutions (CBS). As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the delivery of sustainable, zero-carbon, innovative, and high-quality design solutions for mechanical building services systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical documents, including equipment specifications, schedules, and reports.
  • Perform pipework sizing calculations for various systems, including LTHW, CHW, HWS, CWS, Steam, Gas, Flue, Compressed Air, Lube Oil, etc.
  • Size equipment, including pumps, PHEs, boilers, CHPs, heat pumps, thermal stores, buffer tanks, calorifiers, fans, AHUs, chillers, etc.
  • Conduct heat gain/loss calculations and determine heating/cooling loads and respective profiles.
  • Develop functional design specifications.
Requirements
  • A CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree.
  • Experience in sizing pipework systems and equipment, with training available as required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain engineering solutions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in technical aspects of the discipline.
