Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in a Mechanical Design and Manufacturing role. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating technically competent and cost-effective product solutions that meet the requirements of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project engineers to review customer requirements and develop product solutions that meet design strategy, design standards, rules, and controls.
- Take ownership of design processes related to sales order requirements, generating applicable drawings, and supporting technical documentation, manufacturing, and procurement information.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget by maintaining related documentation and system files.
- Assist in research and development activities where applicable.
- Support the wider activities of the team, including sales, manufacturing, and quality assurance, ensuring that all activities are carried out in line with company policies and procedures.
- Produce and amend GA and Detailed Manufacturing Drawings using Solidworks/AutoCAD LT to the company's standards.
- Create Cut File drawings from detailed design drawings using AutoCAD LT.
- Maintain a library of standard parts on the main server.
- Support the design team to ensure the control and smooth process of orders through the system to maintain delivery deadlines.
- Provide design support to the manufacturing department where needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years in a technical design role, SME light engineering, technical product environment.
- Minimum 3 years Solidworks working experience.
- Minimum AutoCAD CT experience.
- Business system knowledge – preferably using CRM and advanced ERP processes.
- Good IT skills.
- Minimum HND Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical and/or bio-medical customers, products, and process standards.
