The Department of Biology at Widener University is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track assistant professor position in molecular and cellular biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory biology courses for biology majors and upper-level courses in developmental biology and their area of specialty.

The successful candidate must have completed a Ph.D. by May 2024, although 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach introductory biology courses for biology majors
  • Teach upper-level courses in developmental biology and the candidate's area of specialty
  • Engage undergraduates in an active research program
  • Contribute to the Department of Biology's commitment to fostering a sense of belonging in science

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology or a related field
  • 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience
  • Strong potential for undergraduate teaching
  • Ability to promote an environment of inclusive excellence
