This department is integrated within the Division of Anaesthetics and Theatres, overseen by a Clinical Director, with dedicated leads for Pre-Assessment and Pain Management. Additionally, surgical lists are conducted at a community hospital specializing in elective orthopaedic procedures.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• MBBS or equivalent qualification
• Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)

Desirable

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) or equivalent

Professional Experience

Essential

• Completion of a minimum of 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent part-time experience), including at least 2 years in a specialty training program.
• Experience in obstetric anaesthesia

Desirable

• Experience with ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia
• Previous NHS experience

Audit and Clinical Governance

Essential

• Demonstrated understanding of Clinical Governance principles and evidence-based audit methodologies.
