Key Responsibilities:
As the New Product Development Manager, you will oversee and drive a variety of New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) initiatives from initial concept through to market launch, ensuring the creation of high-quality, appealing products for diverse clientele, including retailers and food service providers across the UK.
- Collaborate with NPD and relevant teams to interpret customer briefs and present concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Articulate new product ideas with compelling justifications for market introduction.
- Work in partnership with various departments to assess costings and the feasibility of new offerings.
- Coordinate and manage factory trials and initial production runs.
- Conduct market research and organize necessary product testing as required.
- Lead and mentor NPD Technologists in preparing customer presentations, including sample creation, cost analysis, and documentation.
- Gather feedback from client meetings and relay it to site teams, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Oversee all critical timelines to guarantee timely delivery of projects.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of global, national, and local food trends to ensure the development of industry-leading products.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements within the food sector.
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable role within a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
- A degree in food science, innovation, or a related field.
- A creative individual with a strong passion for food, possessing an exceptional palate and a deep understanding of flavor profiles.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
