Job Title: Configuration Engineer

Magellan Aerospace is seeking a skilled Configuration Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing planning creation and amendments process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely creation and maintenance of product definitions within the Bill of Material database, ensuring economic manufacture, material, and subcontract content.
  • Creation and maintenance of shop order routings, taking into account estimated shop hours and customer quality and schedule requirements.
  • Liaison with customer, contracts, technical, and quality representatives on matters concerning concessions, deviations, product definition, tooling, inspection schedule, and corrective actions.
  • Active contribution to efforts made in securing new business through the analysis of drawings and specifications during the evaluation and estimating phases of customer tenders.
  • Participation in project meetings and contribution to the overall success of department-specific projects through effective and detailed planning.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a Mechanical Engineering or Technologist Course in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized College or University or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a projects or planning role.
  • Good knowledge of CNC Machining and Manufacturing systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, MS Project with excellent IT, literacy, and numeric skills.
