Spinal Oncology Surgeon

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Orthopaedic Spinal Oncology to join their team. As a key member of the spinal services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with spinal conditions, including spinal tumours.
About the RoleThis is a fixed-term 12-month locum post to increase capacity and provide emergency routine spinal care to Birmingham and Worcestershire, and beyond. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the existing spinal services team, including Consultants, Specialist Registrars, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality care to patients with spinal conditions, including spinal tumours
- Work closely with the existing spinal services team to ensure seamless care delivery
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing emergency routine spinal care to Birmingham and Worcestershire, and beyond
- Contribute to the development of the spinal services team, including research and education initiatives
- Full GMC registration along with FRCS (Orth), FRCS (SN) or equivalent higher surgical qualification
- On specialist register or within 6 months of completion CCT or CESR
- Minimum 24 months experience in spinal surgery in full breadth
- Spinal fellowship (in progress or complete) in degenerative and oncology spinal conditions
- Evidence of satisfactory level of independent operating in spinal surgery
