About the Role

The Information Coordinator will serve as the central point of contact within the Control organization for the dissemination of timely and relevant information to internal and external stakeholders, including customers. This role requires the ability to maintain and update relevant information systems, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collect and disseminate information to/from Network Rail Control to TOC/FOC Controls as required, including providing real-time train information to customers through various channels.

2. Ensure accurate, concise, and timely information is displayed on OIS screens, adhering to Network Rail company standards and statutory requirements, for passengers, Train Operator staff, Network Rail staff, and other railway Group members, relating to incidents.

3. Maintain a daily log of notable actions using available systems, in accordance with relevant company standards and instructions.

4. Collaborate with the Route Control Manager to manage information flows within and outside the control organization.

5. Produce reports and supporting data to agreed specifications and coordinate the provision of other necessary Control information to defined timescales.

6. Assist the Incident Controller (Lead Operations Controller) in creating the 'prioritized plan' in line with the PIDD ACOP requirements.

7. Support the Train Running Controller in the production and dissemination of an amended train plan during disruptive events.

8. Assist the Control Team during manning of Gold Command in the collation of minutes and discussions held during incidents, and also during normal incident management conference calls.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

• Excellent communication skills

• Good geographical knowledge of the applicable route

• Knowledge and demonstrable experience of control procedures and instructions

• Demonstrable skill in the use of Microsoft Office package and Control specific software

• Knowledge of Train Operating Companies within the route

• Good team working skills and ability to make objective decisions

• Ability to influence others and work under pressure

Desirable:

• Appreciation of signalling, p'way, and electrification disciplines

• Geographical knowledge of adjoining routes

• Understanding of commercial/business picture within Network Rail and TOCs
