Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Sale, just outside of Manchester city centre. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating environment that values customer-focused service and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, schedules of works, and bills of quantities to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
  2. Handle JCT and NEC contracts, valuations, and final accounts to maintain project financial integrity.
  3. Manage risk and value management processes to minimize project risks and maximize value.
  4. Prepare tender documentation, assess, and report on tender returns to ensure competitive pricing and project feasibility.
  5. Run both small-scale and large-scale projects, prioritizing tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  6. Understand and implement health and safety regulations and CDM to ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Develop and maintain a strong reputation through business development opportunities to drive company growth.
  8. Ensure quality and timely service delivery, acting as the primary contact to build client confidence.
  9. Travel to sites within the South West and occasionally further within the UK to ensure project success.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field to provide a solid foundation in quantity surveying principles.
  2. MRICS qualification to demonstrate expertise and professionalism in the field.
  3. Proven experience working for a professional quantity surveying (PQS) firm to showcase industry knowledge and skills.
  4. Demonstrated experience managing a variety of projects, both small and large scale, to demonstrate project management capabilities.
  5. Strong self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively to ensure project success.
