Job Overview

We are seeking a Lead Clinical Psychologist to become a vital part of our Older Adult Community Treatment Team. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about addressing the psychological needs of older individuals facing both cognitive and emotional challenges.

Developmental Opportunity:

This role offers a structured developmental pathway, with a clear progression to Band 8A upon successful completion of a designated Preceptorship program. The expected duration for this program is between 18 months to 2 years, contingent upon the candidate's prior experience. The organization is committed to providing comprehensive support, including supervision, continuing professional development (CPD), and various training opportunities. Should the developmental milestones not be met within the agreed timeframe, the position will remain at Band 7, as outlined in the initial contract.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Lead Psychologist within a well-established multi-disciplinary team, you will be tasked with delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological evaluations, neuropsychological assessments, and therapeutic interventions tailored for older adults.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading psychological services through consultations and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Providing guidance, consultation, and training to colleagues and non-professional caregivers regarding psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership and service development capabilities.

In the Band 8A capacity, you will operate independently within professional guidelines while adhering to the overarching policies and procedures of the service. You will also oversee the supervision of other Psychologists, Trainee and Assistant Psychologists, and community practitioners, while benefiting from regular supervision and CPD opportunities yourself.
