About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Design Engineer to join our team at Searchability NS&D. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Delivery: Deliver designs that meet safety and performance requirements, adhering to relevant legislation, standards, and requirements.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation and standards.
  • Design Compliance: Apply knowledge to confirm designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, and requirements.
  • CAD Software Expertise: Utilize CAD software (Autodesk Inventor) to generate and modify construction drawings, renderings, report graphics, interior drawings, and other digital images.
  • Design Development: Develop, organize, and prepare various layouts, drawings, and designs from written or verbal specifications, from rough or detailed sketches, or converting paper documents into computerized files.
  • Design Options: Produce various design options, following technical professionals' verbal instructions or ideas to assist in resolving a design concept not yet completely defined.
  • Quality Assurance: Self-check models and drawings to verify completeness, clarity, and accuracy of outputs.
  • Personal Standards: Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
Key Accountabilities
  • Design Delivery: Deliver designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
  • Design Intent: Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with discipline specialists to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Design Change Management: Maintain Design Change Registers and ensure appropriate levels of configuration control are applied.
Requirements
  • Essential Experience: Experience of delivering 3D and 2D CAD outputs on large engineering projects, producing designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.
  • Desirable Experience: Experience of working/operating in a high-hazard and/or highly regulated industry.
Regulatory Requirements
  • Essential Requirement: Ability to work on a nuclear licensed site.
