Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Ember Inns. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for leading a section of the kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of food quality and presentation are maintained. You will work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus, manage food ordering and stock control, and train and inspire your team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a section of the kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared to a high standard and presented in a visually appealing way.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus, manage food ordering and stock control, and train and inspire your team.
  • Support the Head Chef in the absence of a senior chef, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage and motivate a team of chefs, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are working effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee the maintenance of health and hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that the kitchen is clean and tidy at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and food hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
