We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a key member of our Geotechnical Division, you will provide technical services and project management to a variety of projects, including tunneling projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare proposals for geotechnical services, including cost estimates and timelines.
- Plan and carry out assignments requiring familiarity with a broad range of geotechnical engineering.
- Utilize combinations of standard procedures and methods developed in other assignments when analyzing each unique project.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and third parties to accomplish project objectives.
- Manage projects to achieve client objectives, including briefing and control of staff and contractors.
- Direct field activities, including investigation, monitoring, and testing services on construction projects.
- Attend project meetings and carry out site inspections as required.
- Carry out analysis of data, including computer analyses.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, municipal staff, and other stakeholders.
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior and intermediate Geotechnical employees.
- Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering, with a post-graduate degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical engineering related to tunneling, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
- Management experience, including management of engineering teams.
- Use of high-level engineering principles.
- Accurate reporting of project assignments on schedule.
- Management of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven business development skills to generate geotechnical services on projects and take on new clients.
- Proven mentoring of junior engineering staff.
- Ability to exercise diplomacy and tact when interacting with staff, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Familiarity with standard construction procedures and methodologies.
- Advanced computer analysis experience.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle.
