Job Title: Band 4 Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic Children's SLT team in Birmingham as a Band 4 Team Leader.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking therapist to take on a leadership role within our team, working closely with our management team to develop and implement clinical and leadership skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and support a team of SLT staff, comprising of bands 4 to 7, in the day-to-day management of their caseloads.
  • Apply BCHC Trust policies regarding staff management with fairness and compassion.
  • Support the Professional Leads and Service Clinical Manager in the development and implementation of an appropriate training programme for members of the team across the locality.
  • Manage staff performance and disciplinary matters within the designated team, with support from the Service operational manager.
  • Take a role in the local implementation and monitoring of clinical supervision and practice support systems in line with relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of working as a specialist therapist with children and families in a range of multi-disciplinary and/or multi-agency teams in Local Authority and Health settings.
  • Extensive experience of managing a mixed and complex caseload of children and young people with a range of developmental disorders and delays.
  • Significant experience of managing safeguarding concerns and an understanding of local processes.
  • Significant experience in providing support and supervision to colleagues and other professionals.
