Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Specialist and Competition Policy Expert to join our Legal and Corporate Affairs team in London, UK. As a key member of our team, you will provide senior-level advice on antitrust, litigation, regulation, and M&A matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Support regulatory policy and legal elements of merger control processes.
- Advise on antitrust issues in multi-national M&A matters, including due diligence, deal documentation, and integration workstreams.
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance on contractual and behavioral competition law matters.
- Support the development and implementation of antitrust compliance programs and policies.
- Advise on regulatory aspects related to networks, services, products, and consumer issues in the telecommunications and media industries.
- Engage in strategic company projects and provide advice and analysis as required.
- Support Liberty Global departments and subsidiaries to ensure a uniform approach on major regulatory issues.
- Disseminate regulatory and competition law best practices within Liberty Global.
Requirements
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Relevant years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or in-house legal team.
- Excellent advocacy and research skills.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to succeed in an environment with high task and role ambiguity.
- Strong prioritization, project management, and time management skills.
- Focus on understanding business needs and developing practical solutions.
- Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Confident learner with a willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to changing situations.
- Well-developed sense of business ethics.
- Great interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and competitive landscape within the telecommunications and media industry in Europe.
- Keen interest in and knowledge about UK politics.
- Familiarity with the law and economics around economics of competition and regulation.
- Appreciation of the technology Liberty Global's products and services and the policy issues that technology drives.
- Broad commercial interests and business acumen.
- Eager to learn new technologies and ideas.
- Comfortable working across cross-cultural boundaries and all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work in European languages other than English.
- Ability to reduce the complexity of legal advice and deliver it to the business in clear and concise language.
Preferred Education and Qualifications
- Relevant undergraduate or master's degree in law, economics, or a related field.
