Your Role
As a Senior CFD Consultant, you will play a crucial role in our organization, which is entirely employee-owned. We are dedicated to providing numerous opportunities for professional growth and success, enabling you to achieve your career goals.
Key Responsibilities
In your capacity as a Senior CFD Consultant, you will be expected to:
- Conduct thorough technical quality audits on your own work and that of others, ensuring adherence to our quality standards.
- Proactively assist and support all facets of your specialized division's services and activities.
- Deliver CFD services to our clients in a timely, integrated, and technically proficient manner.
- Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team to fulfill business requirements, whether in the office, remotely, or during site visits.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and project team members.
- Seek input from your division or project teams to facilitate the successful completion of your responsibilities.
- Maintain professional certifications and stay informed about relevant industry standards, regulations, and policies.
- Manage a variety of tasks and queries to meet service standards, acting as a point of contact when assigned.
- Assist in the collection, monitoring, and reporting of data and financial information related to project tasks.
- Exhibit professionalism and courtesy in all interactions, using tact and diplomacy to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
- Perform additional duties that align with the overall purpose of this job description.
- Support administrative tasks as needed, including timecards, marketing, HR, and procurement.
Preferred Qualifications
- BEng or MSc in a relevant field with a focus on Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics; a PhD is advantageous.
- A minimum of 4 years of industry experience in modeling and reporting CFD for mechanical systems.
- Membership in an industry association such as IMechE, CIBSE, or IET, with a focus on achieving Practitioner/Chartered status.
- Proficiency in CFD, Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, HVAC, and ANSYS software.
- Competence in MS Office, Rhino, Ansys Fluent, and other relevant software.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage projects proactively.
- Capability to interpret Architectural, Civil/Structural, MEP, and specialist drawings and specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of mechanical systems and controls.
- Ability to develop detailed energy models using simulation software.
- Experience within the architectural design process.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient commercial lighting systems.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
