Job Title: Binding Authorities Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Binding Authorities Technician to join our team at BMS Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for creating and managing the full binding authorities process, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive client and broking documents, including facilities renewal statistics and information.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Utilize the Lloyd's Delegated Contract and Oversight Manager (D-COM) registration system and upload information onto the Atlas database.
  • Prepare and submit binding authorities, lineslips, and facilities, as well as prepare off-slips and certificates where required.
  • Assist in the development, analysis, and maintenance of comprehensive data for facilities, including earned-to-incurred statistics and aggregate reports.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation, files, and Excel spreadsheets related to facilities.
  • Handle incoming enquiries from clients, underwriters, and third parties, and provide advice and assistance to brokers in the placement of facilities.
  • Liaise with the accounts department and business units as required.
  • Meet all KPIs and adhere to company and regulatory policies, procedures, and mandatory training requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in handling binding authorities from cradle to grave, with experience in working in the property and/or casualty lines of business.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detailed understanding of the process and procedures within the insurance market.
  • Professional and personable, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems using own initiative.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Basic technical knowledge of FCA regulations as they pertain to binding authorities and the role of a Lloyd's broker.
