Job Title: Evening Team Leader

Full time

Maidstone Borough Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Homeless Pathway team, working on an evening shift to support and embed our drive to end the cycle of homelessness into our service delivery.

About the Role:
  • Manage a team of staff responsible for managing all temporary accommodation placements, direct lets, private sector move on, and our own discretionary placements into and out of the housing pathway.
  • Oversight of the whole accommodation pathway and maximising resources in the best possible manner, including seeking private rented options.
  • Line manage support officers who specialise in dealing with complex clients and domestic abuse, requiring excellent knowledge of these areas.
  • Flexible approach to working times, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings, with on-call out of hours rota.
About You:
  • Excellent working knowledge of homelessness legislation and thorough understanding of Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended), especially in relation to suitability and final offers of accommodation.
  • Thorough experience of managing staff in the homeless realm, juggling multiple pressures, and loving a challenge.
  • Passionate about ending the cycle of homelessness and previous experience of working with complex households to ensure good and robust outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, community-focused, and understanding of the local area and the needs of the residents.
