About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Administrator to join our team at Kingston GP Chambers. As a Medical Administrator, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our GP Practice, ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, both electronically and manually.
  • Process and manage repeat prescriptions, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Handle cash, cheque, and debit card payments for private practice work, maintaining accurate records and adhering to financial procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of external letters, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Manage and maintain the practice's electronic filing system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Provide administrative support to the Practice Manager and other team members, as required.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment, adhering to infection control procedures and health and safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a medical administration role, preferably in a GP Practice setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and external agencies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficient in the use of clinical software systems, including EMIS Web (desirable).
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above/4-9) and a demonstrable commitment to professional development.
