Job Opportunity: Employer Engagement Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employer Engagement Officer to join our team at Mencap. As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with employers to secure work placements and jobs for our young learners with Learning disabilities and/or Autism in the Kingston area.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with employers from various industries and sectors
  • Negotiating paid employment for our supported Interns
  • Overseeing the work of our Skills Coaches to ensure that placements progress and learners become independent
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities with employers
  • Managing job coaches and ensuring that they have the necessary resources to support our learners
