Job Title: Production Manager - Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Hexion. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient utilization of labor and equipment, aiming for optimal productivity and reliable service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Management: Manage entire production function, including production staff, and be responsible for all health, safety, quality, and environmental issues.
  • Shift Coordination: Coordinate all shift and day production activities, including rosters.
  • Team Performance: Achieve team performance targets through active coaching and team leadership.
  • Production Optimization: Ensure all production requirements are coordinated to optimize the plant's production capacity.
  • Maintenance Management: Manage maintenance schedules of all plant equipment, tools, and other company assets.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Support the execution of Lean manufacturing projects.
  • Grievance Handling: Be the first line of grievance handling and management.
  • EHS Leadership: Lead the site EHS committee and work to monitor and improve EHS performance.
  • Quality Management: Lead the quality program as ISO 9000 management representative and use sigma scores and other quality data to improve quality.
  • Training and Development: Manage and coordinate training and staff development for direct reports.
  • Financial Management: Ensure production budget and financial targets are achieved.
Requirements
  • Experience: Extensive hands-on, front-line, supervisory experience within a unionized environment, preferably in the chemical industry, in combination with relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Skills: Significant experience dealing with occupational health, safety, and environmental issues, and Major Hazard Facility experience is desirable.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement/LEAN/Six Sigma projects.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to support stated business objectives, implement policies and procedures, and actively champion change.
  • Leadership Skills: Well-developed leadership skills with the ability to monitor and review performance.
