We are seeking a highly skilled SAIS Inspector to join our team at Schindler Group. As a SAIS Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing new or modernized lifts and escalators/moving walks to ensure they meet the Schindler Acceptance and Inspection Standard (SAIS) and are safe for service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of lifts and escalators/moving walks to identify any non-conformities or safety issues.
  • Perform defined tests, measurements, and checks to ensure compliance with SAIS requirements.
  • Document and record results, and re-inspect in case of non-conformities.
  • Coach installation teams during the inspection process and ensure all tasks are performed safely and in accordance with agreed methods and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to NI/MOD or EI as requested by the Test/Technical Manager.
  • Assist with retrofit actions as requested by the Test/Technical Manager.
  • Ensure periodic inspections of existing installations are performed in accordance with Group requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within the lift and escalator industry as a qualified installation or maintenance engineer (NVQ3 or similar).
  • Previous experience working with commodity lifts, escalators/moving walks, and custom lifts (NI/MOD).
  • Extensive product knowledge, sufficient electrical and mechanical skills to perform required tasks, and familiarity with field tools.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of safety components, safety relevant subsystems, system related safety issues/hazards, relevant codes and standards, and accessing technical or code related documentation.
