About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our internal IT systems development team at Matched Group. As a key member of our team, you will work in an agile environment with other teams to deliver business applications based on web technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, code, test, document, maintain, and support web-based applications using PHP and NodeJS.
  • Technical Leadership: Contribute to requirements, design specification, and technical documentation. Lead code reviews, mentor, and coach junior developers.
  • Emerging Technologies: Research and recommend emerging technologies and products to enhance our software development capabilities.
  • Project Planning: Contribute to project planning and agile development methodologies.
  • Architectural Decisions: Support and suggest architectural decisions to ensure the scalability and maintainability of our software applications.
Requirements
  • Commercial Experience: 4+ years of commercial software development experience using PHP, and 1+ year of commercial experience using NodeJS.
  • Technical Skills: Ideal experience using Symfony, Object-oriented techniques, and relational databases (MySQL or Postgres).
  • Soft Skills: Collaborative approach, strong written and verbal communication skills, experience mentoring and coaching, and leading code reviews.
