About the Role

Prospero Teaching collaborates with Local Authorities and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) teams across the UK to deliver tailored educational assistance to those outside of traditional schooling. Our mission is to support individuals who require additional help, particularly those with SEND.

We are in search of a dedicated SEN Tutor to provide personalized 1:1 support for disengaged pupils with special educational needs. The focus will be on students who currently lack a formal school placement.

The selected student has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and has been out of the educational system for an extended period. The tutor will be responsible for evaluating the student's current capabilities and gradually reintegrating educational activities into their daily life while a suitable educational institution is identified. Sessions will be conducted in the comfort of the student's home.

Given the unique needs of the students we serve, it is essential that applicants possess a robust background and comprehensive understanding of special educational needs.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged learners
  • Classroom teaching experience within the UK
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Two professional references related to child care.
