As a key member of the Brakes senior management team, the Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of our busy Reading site.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the effective planning and execution of the operational strategy, including workforce planning, forecasting, and trend analysis to ensure operational efficiency.
The Operations Manager will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and direct reports to drive service and cost benefits across the operation, ensuring company, operational, and legal compliance in critical areas including Health and Safety, HACCP, and Food Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a continuous improvement and high-performance culture across the warehouse function
- Lead the planning and execution of the day-to-day operational strategy
- Ensure operational efficiency through workforce planning, forecasting, and trend analysis
- Drive service and cost benefits across the operation
- Ensure company, operational, and legal compliance in critical areas
Requirements:
- Previous senior leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehousing operation
- Experience within the FMCG sector, preferably in the food service sector
- Commercially astute, results-driven, and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication, relationship building, and interpersonal skills
