About the Role

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Colchester. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for providing support to both the delivery management and on-site delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the programme area Estimating team to ensure robust estimates align to scope and make allowance for risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Procurement team, Construction team, and Project team in preparing Subcontracts and procurement strategies and ensuring they reflect agreed scope.
  • Produce accurate live forecasting, considering the programme and reporting in accordance with the respective work breakdown structure / cost breakdown structure.
  • Monitor and assess actual costs, providing reports on actual costs vs. estimate and identifying underlying reasons for any variance & resolutions.
  • Ensure that all project team members (including site staff) understand the contractual arrangements, in order to satisfy Client & Partner organisation requirements.
  • Liaise with the Project team to ensure any Contractual notifications required are issued in accordance with the Contract.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC / HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with specific QS / commercial management experience.
  • Have excellent IT skills.
  • Be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
  • Be results driven and keen to make a positive impact.
