Job Title: Commercial Finance Partner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Finance Partner to join our team at Ogilvy. As a key member of our Commercial Finance Team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability by providing financial expertise and strategic guidance to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with client teams to develop and implement financial strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Manage and optimize net working capital across client portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with client project managers to ensure accurate forecasting and timely reporting.
  • Review and approve scopes and ensure alignment with commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job reconciliation and timely reporting.
  • Review and advise on T&E spend and procurement strategies.
  • Liaise with client leads on day-to-day client procurement and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Help client leads develop and implement margin improvement plans and monitor progress.

Financial Reporting:

  • Attend meetings with client leads to finalize monthly revenue and documentation in accordance with IFRS15 requirements.
  • Update revenue trackers and ensure alignment with Maconomy reporting.
  • Prepare revenue accrual or deferral journals in a timely manner for month-end reporting.
  • Provide monthly commentary on aged Accrued Revenue and aged Deferred Income balances.
  • Ensure timely reporting in adherence with internal timetables.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with ICFR regulations in relevant areas, particularly revenue recognition.
  • Assist in ICFR, Internal and External audits, including client audits.
  • Understand client contracts and ensure adherence to key contractual points.
  • Prepare and maintain IFRS15 assessment and contract summaries for client portfolio.

Ad-hoc:

  • Perform ad-hoc client analysis as requested by client lead or Commercial Controller/Director.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and Saving Report consolidation.
  • Help prepare for agency review meetings.
  • Support with supplier set ups, urgent payment requests, and Maconomy queries.
  • Provide cover for other team members as needed.
  • Train non-finance teams and new starters on best commercial practice and financial processes.

Requirements:

  • Media experience preferred or experience in service-oriented businesses with a commercial focus.
  • Proven experience in business-partnering/commercial roles and ability to work with finance and non-finance staff.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to identify and improve processes.
  • Confident and enthusiastic communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with Billing/WIP/Revenue recognition and Net Working Capital management.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail with strong time management skills.
