Associate Director - Building Surveyor

Cobalt Recruitment is partnering with a dynamic multi-disciplinary organization to find an exceptional Associate Director - Building Surveyor. This exciting opportunity is part of the company's vision to expand its Surveying division, which is experiencing rapid growth.

Role Overview

Located in North London, our client is seeking a talented, driven, and passionate Chartered Surveyor or Assoc RICS with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment. As an integral part of the team, you will play a key role in delivering projects and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Administration under JCT for refurbishment/repair projects.
  • Inspection and defect analysis and reporting.
  • Advising the Estates team on budget preparation, estimating the cost of planned future works.
  • Inspection and preparation of CapEX plans to highlight necessary works over the next 10 years.
  • Client-facing meetings, writing up minutes, and following up on actions arising.
  • Full Building Survey and HomeBuyers Reports.
  • Fire Door Inspections and Fire Risk Assessments (training provided as necessary).
Requirements
  • Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Outstanding good building pathology skills.
  • IT literate and able to complete own administration tasks.
  • Experience in JCT Contract Administration project documentation and dealing with contractors.
  • Experience in specifying methods, materials, and quantities and running tender processes.
  • Understanding of CDM and the defined role of Principal Designer.
  • Experience in running/attending Client meetings and conveying eloquent and clear advice.
  • Good understanding of current Building Regulations and Fire Safety Legislation.
Remuneration
  • £70,000 base salary.
  • 30% of fees billed over target.
