Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a specialist in Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), you will be working with primary-aged children who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead 1:1 or small group sessions, following planning from the SENCO, Teacher, or using the child's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Support SEN children to engage in a classroom environment on a 1:1 basis.
  • Assist with identifying the needs and wants of children with communication difficulties.
  • Prepare activities and resources under instruction from a Teacher or SENCO.
  • Maintain effective and relevant record keeping.

Requirements:

  • Ample experience engaging with SEN pupils, especially those with autism.
  • Patient, understanding, and calm approachable manner.
  • Adaptable and versatile to pupils' changes in behavior, wants, and needs.
  • Cache Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • Up-to-date Team Teach training (desirable but not essential).
  • Understanding of EHCPs (desirable but not essential).
