Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Ravensbury Park Medical Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in providing exceptional service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Phlebotomy Services: You will be responsible for taking blood samples from patients as requested by our nursing and medical staff, and referring to our GPs and nurses as necessary in accordance with agreed clinical guidelines.
- Health Checks: You will conduct blood pressure checks, urine tests, height and weight measurements, and body mass index (BMI) and waist measurements as required, and record the results accurately.
- ECG and Spirometry: You will assist with ECG and spirometry tests, and provide support to our nursing team with chronic disease care for patients.
- Stock Management: You will be responsible for stocking toilets with urine sample pots and Chlamydia forms, and regularly checking reception for urine samples left by patients and taking action as necessary.
- Chaperone Services: You will provide chaperone services to our clinicians during designated minor surgery clinics, and assist with patient care as directed.
- Reporting and Referral: You will refer and report any investigation or examination findings and results to the appropriate professional.
- Patient Support: You will provide basic health advice and support patients in accessing different professionals, and direct them to the appropriate health professional or other staff member.
- Clinical Room Maintenance: You will ensure that the condition of clinical rooms is maintained in accordance with infection control and service guidelines.
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Essential: GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- Desirable: Qualified in Phlebotomy, experience of working in a GP practice
