About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our team at Octavius Infrastructure. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for providing site engineering duties within a geographical area of the Section, establishing the level and survey control for the works, and liaising with the Survey team to set out detailed works as per the contract drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide site engineering duties within a geographical area of the Section.
  • Establish the level and survey control for the works.
  • Liaise with the Survey team to set out detailed works as per the contract drawings.
  • Assist the site management team to manage sections of the work/specific sub-contract packages.
  • Liaise with the client representative and designers over design issues/changes.
  • Take responsibility for checking and keeping records of delivered material, to ensure all materials used on site are in line with the specification.
  • Carry out checks on the sub-contractor's setting out.
  • Carry out checks for quality in accordance with the inspection and test plan throughout the contract and duly record.
  • Establish records; calibration documents and check registers for all instruments on site, including subcontractor's instruments.
  • Keep accurate records for excavations, reduce dig, concrete pours, reinforcement etc. and convey to commercial team.
  • Carry out surveys of completed works to record as-built conditions.
  • Assist in drafting method statements, task briefings and inspection and test plans.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer who has a strong background in infrastructure and/or Civils works, including earthworks, structures, highways, drainage or utilities. You will have a structured environment with other Section Engineers, sub-contractors and site management team.

Requirements
  • HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE).
  • Experience of setting out on civil engineering projects and management of daily activities.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Cable avoidance training (desirable).
  • First Aid Training.
  • IOSH / SSSTS training.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with delivery team & client.
