Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Stockport Area

Salary: £45-60k + Overtime

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team of engineers providing cutting-edge solutions for various manufacturing industries. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and installing complex automated systems using the latest robotics, servo, PLC, and vision systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with mechanical and control design engineers to design bespoke automation machinery.
  2. Complete technical documentation, including functional design specifications, bill of materials, and electrical drawings.
  3. Produce customer sign off and technical documentation such as functional design specifications and system manuals.
  4. Produce accurate, functional and cost-effective electrical system designs using EPLAN software.
  5. Produce accurate 2D layout drawings for electrical panel build and system IO layout to convey appropriate installation information.
  6. Produce accurate bills of materials, suitable for component procurement, spare parts lists, and installation records.
  7. Support the machine commissioning activities in collaboration with the commissioning team to help ensure a successful FAT & SAT.
  8. Provide occasional site support for customer meetings, projects scoping and SAT activities.
Requirements:
  1. Degree/equivalent or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Extensive experience with electrical design software.
  3. Extensive experience with hand calculations for drive systems, electrical loadings and current ratings etc.
  4. Experience in bespoke/special purpose machine building and design.
  5. Understanding of UKCA/CE Technical file creation and risk assessments.
