Job Summary:

Ant Yapi (UK) Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing subcontractors, monitoring project costs, and developing effective commercial strategies to optimize project cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage subcontractors on a daily basis, including tasks such as tendering, negotiation, and contract administration before and after awarding contracts.
  • Monitor project costs compared to budgeted amounts and prepare contract forecasts to identify risks and opportunities for project spending/budgets.
  • Develop and execute effective commercial strategies to optimize project cost management.
  • Handle all commercial correspondence and contractual notices, ensuring compliance with contractual conditions and clarity of the client's position.
  • Identify emerging problems proactively and report contractual claims. Assist in managing and resolving legal and/or commercial disputes, coordinating with Regional/Functional management as needed.
  • Lead final account settlements on all projects, ensuring adherence to project authority and agreed-upon timelines. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for smooth project closure.
  • Attend project meetings and offer expert advice on commercial matters.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate project budgets and forecasts.
  • Review and negotiate variations/change orders with subcontractors and clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all commercial activities, including contracts, variations, and claims.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cost control and contract management.
  • Industrial Project Experience and Fluent English are must-haves.
  • Experience in NEC4 type contracts is preferable.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple aspects of the project simultaneously.
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring quality control in large-scale projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on a contract basis for the entire project duration.

Working Conditions:

  • Work schedule: 08:00 AM to 06:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Contract Details:

  • The position is a fixed-term contract for 13 months.
