Your Role

As a Room Supervisor, you will foster strong relationships with both parents and children on a daily basis.

You will assist with daily routines, including naptimes, mealtimes, and engaging activities. Your responsibilities will include fairly delegating tasks within your room and supporting your team in their professional development. As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will ensure that all procedures are followed diligently. On occasions when the Deputy Manager is unavailable, you will take on their responsibilities. You will serve as a role model in all activities, demonstrating effective learning strategies, a positive demeanor, and mentoring your colleagues. If you are a Room Leader seeking advancement or an experienced Assistant Manager eager to grow, Fennies will support your journey.

Your Expertise

  • Establishing nurturing relationships with children, families, and your team
  • Welcoming new staff and children into your environment and effectively implementing their integration plans
  • Inspiring creativity and empowerment in learners through engaging experiences and a stimulating environment
  • Communicating with parents regarding room activities, tracking progress, and ensuring clarity on key personnel
  • Leading your room with attentiveness and responsibility, adhering to policies and procedures
  • Supporting the Management Team by conveying their directives to your room and providing feedback on team development for evaluations and mentoring
  • Training your team to achieve their full potential and fostering positive changes within your setting

Your Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of child development from birth to age 5 and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Familiarity with extracurricular activities such as STEM, phonics, Makaton, and yoga
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare, actively pursuing Level 3
  • Minimum grade 4 or grade C in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Best practices regarding key person systems, safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of safe medication administration, First Aid, and critical care policies
  • Ability to resolve issues and complaints according to Fennies' policies while consulting with your line manager
