Position Overview

Technical Expertise

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing drainage systems, service routes, road infrastructure, and earthworks across various projects, including industrial, commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, and leisure sectors.
  • Preparing detailed drawings from initial concepts to final construction.
  • Conducting Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, and Service Strategy Reports, along with the design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems from inception to execution.
  • Detailing works related to highway drainage agreements.
Professional Development

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree and a minimum of one year of post-graduate experience in civil engineering.
  • Experience in report writing, including Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Statements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for drawing preparation and in MicroDrainage for designing foul and surface water drainage systems.
  • Experience with ground modeling software for horizontal and vertical alignment, as well as earthworks design.
  • Familiarity with negotiations involving highway authorities, drainage authorities, and environmental agencies.
Knowledge Requirements

Understanding of national guidelines such as:

  • Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
  • Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions
  • Manual for Streets
  • Sewers for Adoption
  • Building Regulations
