**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Associate Civil Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking strategic development planning and detailed design work, specializing in providing highways, drainage, and development infrastructure advice to private sector clients and local authorities.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Undertake strategic development planning and detailed design work, providing highways, drainage, and development infrastructure advice to a wide range of private sector clients and local authorities.
  • Lead and coordinate detailed design and implementation of projects during the construction phase.
  • Manage multiple projects and client accounts simultaneously, requiring strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Support the wider team's financial and commercial management through robust project delivery, with a strong understanding of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering projects.
  • Liaise with highways, water, statutory, and local authorities to negotiate outline and technical approvals.

**Requirements**

  • Relevant qualifications (Bachelor or Masters) in Civil Engineering and Chartered status with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of legal processes, planning, design, design software, technical consents process, adoption, and contract procedures for the provision of drainage schemes, including SUDS systems and associated infrastructure for new developments.
  • Experience in technical report writing and knowledge of relevant design codes, such as Sewers for Adoption, SUDS Manual, Building Regulations, Water Industry Act, and associated guidance relevant to drainage and the water environment.
  • Ability to direct and check the use of relevant software, such as MicroDrainage and AutoCAD, and experience or interest in PDS to supervise junior colleagues.
