Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical or Electrical Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team at TQR Consultancy Ltd. This role involves working in a distinctive environment, focusing on the planned and preventative maintenance of Mechanical and Electrical systems within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Engineering Manager, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related legislation.
  • Provide an out-of-hours emergency response service as part of an on-call rota, communicating effectively with the Engineering Manager and team.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of essential life support systems for livestock.
  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the entire site.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Husbandry Teams to maintain water quality within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist in maintaining the estate and facilities to a high standard through regular inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept in optimal working condition according to maintenance schedules and manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Provide technical support to other departments as needed.
  • Supervise external contractors, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety regulations.
  • Participate in training relevant to your role.
  • Adhere to the company’s Health & Safety policy and promote safe working practices.
  • Be flexible with working hours to support building and plant operations, including varied shift patterns.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by senior management.
  • Take on the role of Duty Engineer on a scheduled basis, ensuring coverage during absences.
  • Follow established procedures during out-of-hours emergency call-outs.
  • Possess a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • For Mechanical Engineers: Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical systems, including pumps, HVAC, and pipework.
  • For Electrical Engineers: Exhibit strong electrical skills, including knowledge of supply and distribution systems.
  • Maintain a good level of IT proficiency, particularly with MS Office and building services software.
  • Have a solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements related to maintenance activities.

Work Schedule: The successful candidate will work a 3 on 3 off day shift pattern from 07:00 to 18:00, including weekends and holidays.

Location Requirement: It is essential that candidates reside within a 30-minute commute to the company to ensure timely response for emergency services.
