About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Revenue and Property Team as a Revenue and Property Officer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our homeless service, working closely with Social Care Workers, Property Management Team, and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the rent accounts of residents in temporary accommodation to ensure maximum benefit uptake and reduced levels of rent arrears.
  • Visit customers in their temporary accommodation and communicate with them by telephone to discuss their rent accounts and provide support.
  • Meet with service users to complete necessary paperwork for their temporary furnished flats, including occupancy agreements, Housing Benefit applications, and explaining tenancy rules and responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the Property Management Team to ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed and that service users are aware of their responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work enthusiastically as part of a fast-paced team and manage a caseload.
  • Computer literacy and experience of Housing Benefit legislation and debt management are desirable.
