Position Overview...
As a Warehouse Operative at Soho House, you will manage and process all food and beverage inventory ordered for the establishment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the cleanliness of storage areas, overseeing dry storage, wash areas, and freight elevators. A successful Warehouse Operative will maintain an efficient flow of goods, which entails documenting, storing, locating, and distributing stock across departments. You will also inspect and sort shipments while verifying invoices to ensure accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify all perishable and non-perishable food and beverage orders, documenting quantities accurately.
- Assist vendors and management in receiving additional supplies as necessary.
- Inspect received goods for quality and quantity, rejecting any unacceptable items.
- Distribute products according to food safety regulations and storage guidelines.
- Ensure proper FIFO (First In, First Out) practices in storage areas.
- Conduct inventory checks as instructed and report findings to management.
- Complete daily checklists in collaboration with the overnight porter.
- Sanitize all bar storage areas to maintain a safe environment for consumables.
- Prepare ingredients for kitchen operations as required.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with kitchen exposure.
- Proficient in reading and writing English, with the ability to interpret labels and follow safety protocols.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Capable of working effectively under time constraints and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to grasp, turn, and hold objects by hand.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
- Occasionally required to kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as necessary.
- Shifts may vary across the week, including evenings and weekends.
- Average weekly hours range from 32 to 45 hours.
