We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis to support business growth and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Collaborate with management and senior management to prepare and review group financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Statutory Financial Statements: Prepare and submit statutory financial statements under the Companies Act 2006 and Financial Reporting Standard 101 (FRS 101).
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and management accounting requirements.
- Accounting and Reconciliation: Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate posting of accounting journals.
- Internal Control: Contribute to the preparation and submission of internal control reports for parent entities.
- Strategic Projects: Support key strategic projects, including the implementation of new accounting requirements and standards.
- Accounting Policies: Maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with IFRS and other relevant standards.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit files and provide support for financial statement disclosures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other finance teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, or ACA)
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Industry Experience: Experience in the financial services industry is desirable but not a necessity
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS; familiarity with prudential requirements is a plus
- Analytical and Numerical Skills: Excellent analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
- Time Management: Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Planning and Organisation: Strong planning and organisational skills, with a hands-on approach
- Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
- Annual Leave: 30+ days annual leave, including bank holidays
- Pension Contributions: Pension contributions up to 10%
