Position Overview

Role: Qualified Social Worker - Children's Services

Mbi Staffing is seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team, focusing on the well-being of children and families. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and support of vulnerable children, particularly those facing significant risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive Social Care Services within community settings and beyond.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop case plans, and facilitate regular reviews to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, practices, and procedures while providing Social Work services.
  • Engage with localities, Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH), and support throughcare and aftercare initiatives.
Service Provision

Provide tailored Social Work services to individuals, families, and caregivers by:

  • Assessing and identifying needs through direct therapeutic interventions.
  • Implementing care planning and management strategies to meet those needs.
  • Taking responsibility for the supervision of service users receiving care services, ensuring robust case reviews.
Legal and Professional Responsibilities
  • Act as an expert witness, providing evidence in court and to relevant bodies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with various agencies to enhance the provision of Social Work services, representing the organization’s interests.
  • Mentor and support newly qualified and less experienced Social Workers, offering placements to students as a practice educator.
  • Contribute to departmental training initiatives, resource development, and participate in professional development groups.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, including regular supervision and appraisal, in line with Social Work registration standards.
  • Apply ethical principles and values to guide professional practice and decision-making, ensuring service user participation.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of qualified Social Work experience is required.
  • Experience working with children and families is highly valued.
  • Successful candidates must undergo DBS checks.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are necessary, unless a disability prevents this.
  • Ability to perform all duties with reasonable adjustments in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 regarding Disability Provisions.
