Our mission is to design, develop, and deliver top-tier digital solutions that cater to users needing to claim benefits, seek employment assistance, or understand their State Pension.

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to 'earn while you learn,' gaining practical experience as you work towards a Level 3 qualification. You will receive structured training to cultivate vital skills, knowledge, and professional behaviors, all while being part of a supportive team environment.

With 20% of your working hours dedicated to training, you will benefit from guidance from your line manager, skills coach, and the broader service management community, alongside fellow apprentices. This collaborative environment will provide ample support to help you thrive in your role.

Some travel to other digital hubs may be necessary as part of your responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities

As an apprentice in service management, you will engage in various essential duties, including:

  • Incident Management: Addressing and resolving service interruptions to maintain operational continuity.
  • Change Management: Overseeing modifications to services while minimizing disruption and ensuring quality.
  • Problem Management: Identifying root causes of issues and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Service Reporting: Compiling and analyzing data to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

You will be assigned to one of the following specialized teams:

  • Working Age Live Support: Supporting IT services for the Working Age Directorate, ensuring reliable service delivery for critical operations.
  • Retirement and Appeals: Maintaining high service availability and managing incidents and changes to enhance user experience.
  • Low Code/The Garage: Managing live service processes across multiple critical services.
  • Digital Channels: Overseeing digital services that facilitate communication and operations.
  • Technology Corporate Services: Managing service delivery for various corporate systems.
  • Citizen Information: Handling essential systems that store vital customer information for efficient service delivery.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a valid passport, birth certificate, or residence permit.
  • Have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
  • Have resided in the UK or EEA for at least three years prior to the apprenticeship start date or hold refugee status.
  • Not be enrolled in full-time education or another apprenticeship at the start date.
  • Not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar field.
  • Hold GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above or successfully complete a functional skills test.

Commitment

We expect candidates to be dedicated to completing the apprenticeship and obtaining the qualification.
