Overview

As a seasoned Senior Psychiatric Consultant, you will possess specialized expertise in assisting individuals who have experienced acquired brain injuries, those with neurodegenerative disorders, and patients facing co-existing mental health challenges alongside intricate physical health issues.

At Elysium Healthcare, you will be part of a vast and encouraging network of dedicated professionals. Drawing from your experience in either the NHS or private healthcare sectors, you will effectively manage operations within established standards, objectives, and timelines.

In your role as a senior team member, you will offer guidance and ensure the delivery of exceptional care. This includes conducting unit rounds, evaluating referrals, participating in Care and Treatment Reviews, attending Managers' Panel Hearings, and engaging in Mental Health Review Tribunals. You will also be responsible for providing regular mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the administration of the Mental Health Act, Clinical Policies, Clinical Standards, and related administrative duties concerning service users. Manage and assess the medical services through audits, ensuring that clinical policies and practices are research-driven and of high quality. Collaborate with external partners to facilitate the reintegration of service users into the community. Lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. Ensure the effective implementation of the Care Programme Approach for service users. Participate in the evaluation of referrals to ensure that the service meets the needs of appropriately admitted individuals. Contribute to the training and development of staff across various disciplines. Engage in Clinical Governance activities.

To excel in this position, you will need:

Medical qualifications with MRCPsych or equivalent. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Creativity and the ability to drive corporate decisions. Leadership capabilities. The capacity to effect professional and organizational change. Awareness of current trends in psychiatry and mental health. Knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary issues in mental and physical health. Prior experience as a consultant.
