Purchasing Manager Job Description

GPW Recruitment is partnering with a Bolton-based specialist manufacturer to recruit a Purchasing Manager on a permanent basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a well-established company with a strong market presence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a purchasing strategy, including the implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Generate savings and rationalise the supply chain by conducting market research and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Procure and supply raw materials and services, adhering to agreed spending controls and best commercial practices.
  • Lead and manage the Purchasing Team, setting and monitoring individual targets and delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Liaise with other departments to forecast, plan, and deliver demand in relevant quality and quantities.
  • Negotiate and administer purchasing contracts, and make or buy policy analysis and presentation of clear recommendations to the Managing Director.
  • Administer and report on purchasing performance, and stay up-to-date with international trading issues and imports.
