We are in search of a proactive Engineering Manager who will collaborate with global cross-functional teams to develop and enhance customer-centric technology products. You will play a crucial role in fostering end-to-end ownership within our teams, working closely with engineering and product teams to ensure their success. Your leadership will empower our engineers to reach their full potential, refining their existing skills and acquiring new competencies for personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical and people leader for a cross-functional squad of engineers focused on delivering and maintaining our essential banking systems.
  • Drive technical delivery through hands-on involvement in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to promote team autonomy and maintain a scalable codebase.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to establish objectives and key results (OKRs) for the squad.
  • Influence software architecture within the team and coordinate dependencies with other teams, advocating for the company's strategic vision.
  • Promote a hands-on culture characterized by high observability and a 'build-it, support-it' mindset.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to manage performance and guide team members in their career development.
  • Participate in the hiring process, contributing to the onboarding of new engineers as we continue to grow.
  • Enhance our engineering culture by leading team-building activities, such as offsites, hackathons, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Ensure that the squad's operational excellence practices lead to an outstanding merchant experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a hands-on Engineering Manager, with over 6 years in software development.
  • Proven experience working with backend-focused engineering teams and familiarity with modern programming languages (Golang, Java/Kotlin, Elixir) and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental design principles, data modeling, and API design.
  • Experience in building and maintaining high-scale, high-throughput, and high-availability systems in agile environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with an empathetic and adaptive leadership style.
